Help with the Crew Wise app for rowing clubs. For step-by-step help by role, start at the Help Centre.
Looking for instructions? The Help Centre has a section for rowers, coaches, administrators and parents, and the guide covers everything step by step — creating an account, joining your club, setting a club up, sign-outs, the StrokeCoach, messages and the admin area. You can also open Crew Wise in your browser.
Quickest: tap Need help? in the corner of this page and type what’s going wrong — it walks you through the fix step by step, and drafts the email for you if it can’t.
To reach a person: email ashflash787@gmail.com with the word ROWCLUB in the subject. You’ll normally hear back within two working days. Club, plan and billing enquiries: info@hawkesbayrowing.co.nz.
Common questions
How do I sign a boat out?
Home → Take a boat out → tap a boat under Fits you → name the crew seat by seat (and the coxswain on a coxed boat) → pick the expected duration → Continue → Confirm Sign Out. The boat shows On water on every device until it’s returned. Full steps.
How do I report damage?
When you return the boat, answer How did the boat come back? with Needs some attention for something the boatman should see that doesn’t stop anyone rowing (the boat stays available), or Out of order for anything that does. Out of order takes the boat off the available list on every device until a club administrator marks the repair done, and emails the administrators straight away. Full steps.
A boat is showing as overdue — what does that mean?
The crew that signed it out gave an expected duration and hasn’t returned it in the app yet. Check they’re back safely, then have them (or an administrator) complete the return.
Why can’t I see older logbook entries?
The Starter plan keeps 90 days of history. The Club and Championship plans keep the full logbook and add CSV export. Compare the plans.
How does my club get set up or change plans?
Plans are per club with unlimited members, and are managed by your club administrator on the Crew Wise website — not inside the app. Every club starts with a 30-day free trial. Start your club.
How do I get in?
Create a free account, then enter your club’s join code — any member has it. If your club isn’t on Crew Wise yet, anyone at the club can register it in the app in about two minutes and the 30-day free trial starts on the spot. How to join · How to set a club up.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: More → Your profile → “Delete my account…”. It permanently removes your account and personal data. The club’s own logbook records stay with the club, without your account attached.
How do messages work, and are young rowers safe?
Every club gets Club Chat, a Coaches chat, an Admins chat and a men’s and a women’s chat for each grade; anyone can start a group chat, and the higher plans add squad threads and private messages. Chat never leaves your club.
A private message between an adult and a member under 18 is never one-to-one: the rower’s linked parent or guardian is added to the conversation — or a club administrator if no parent is linked yet — and everyone can see they are there. Any message can be reported to your club’s administrators from the thread, and anyone can be blocked from messaging you privately. More on messaging and safeguarding.
Can parents have their own account?
Yes. A club administrator sets a member’s role to Parent / Guardian and links them to their rower. Parents see the club calendar, RSVPs and any message they are copied into — they cannot take a boat off the rack. Help for parents and guardians.
Who can book boats?
Your club decides. A club administrator picks which roles may reserve boats ahead in Admin → Club settings; administrators can always book.
How do I reply to a practice?
Home shows the next session with Going / Can’t make it / Maybe, or open Club → Schedule and tap the activity for the full detail, the map and who else is coming.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
More → Your profile → Notifications: separate switches for messages, the schedule and club updates. If the phone itself is blocking them, allow Crew Wise in your phone’s Settings → Notifications.
Can I use Crew Wise on a computer or an Android phone?
Yes — open it in your browser on any Mac, PC, Chromebook, Android phone or tablet, iPhone or iPad. Same account, same club, same logbook. On Android, Chrome’s Add to Home screen makes it open like an installed app; on iPhone, Safari’s Share → Add to Home Screen does the same. The phone app adds the GPS StrokeCoach, QR scanning and push notifications.
Something broken?
Email a description of what you did, what you expected, and what happened — screenshots help enormously. Include your device model and its version. More on getting support.
